Application Maintenance Support Specialist

Xplornet Communications Inc.

This is a Contract position in Sarnia, ON posted March 13, 2021.

We are looking for an Application Maintenance Support Specialist in our Woodstock, NB office.

The Application Maintenance Support Specialist role is to support both the business applications as well as the backend/server application used by the business including an internally developed Installer Portal application, Salesforce.com, Zuora, SAP and integration amongst all of them.

In addition this role will provide second level support for the front line help desk as necessary.

Key responsibilities include:
• Support all business applications including account maintenance, correction from failed transactions, and implementing new deployments
• Investigate issues, help pinpoint defects and provide documentation to the development team on how to recreate the issue and oversee the issue to completion.

• Work with other departments and solution providers to resolve issues ensuring our applications maintain the high availability expected by the business
• Work with Development team to create/modify reports using SSIS, SSRS in our backend SQL environment.

• Proactively manage applications, responding in a timely manner to mission critical outages.

• Develop and maintain technical documentation pertaining to data structures and reporting as well as SSIS and SSRS procedures.

• Work with Xplornet’s BSAs and developers to ensure the solutions being proposed will work within our existing applications.

• Be “on-call” as required.

The ideal candidate will possess:
• College diploma in the field of Business Administration, Computer Science, Accounting or Management Information Systems preferred or 3 years’ of relevant work experience
• Extensive practical knowledge in importing/exporting data for use in reporting
• Proven experience in writing applications/scripts/SQL commands against relational databases
• Proven database experience in the areas of data structures and modeling
• Excellent analytical, mathematical and creative problem solving skills
• Excellent written and oral communication skills
• Ability to conduct research into infrastructure issues and products as required
• Experience in Salesforce.com development while not necessary would be an asset
