Application Support Analyst

GFL Environmental is looking for an Application Support Analyst
– Time & Attendance to join our IT team in our Vaughan Corporate Office The Application Support Analyst’s role is to deliver support, guidance, and training to end users in the organization about how to relevant software programs efficiently and effectively in fulfilling business objectives.

This includes troubleshooting applications and software for customers across all business lines.

The Application Support Analyst is also responsible for assisting in the design, delivery, and improvement of in-house software applications, training programs, and related courseware.

In this role, you will primarily be responsible for supporting our Payroll department with Synerion Agile, our Time and Attendance application.

Providing support through email, phone calls and in-person for Agile Synerion for over 13,000 employees and 1000 managers and supervisors across Canada and the USA.

Key Responsibilities: Field incoming problem tickets from end users to resolve support requests and/or issues Support payroll to ensure there are no errors preventing them from completing tasks Collaborate with team members to ensure efficient and effective resolution response time on problem tickets Record and track all successful and unsuccessful decisions made, and actions taken, through to final resolution as well as and document processes Configure, install and test payroll exports and synchronizations Deactivate inactive users on Agile Remotely connect to punch clocks to reboot and set time Train new managers on the punch clocks (how to add/remove employees, etc.) Use of SQL Administration Module for large employee imports from WorkDay into agile for new acquisitions Document and post information regarding software updates, knowledge base articles, and frequently asked questions Evaluate documented resolutions and analyze trends for ways to prevent repeated future problems Identify and learn appropriate software applications used and supported by the organization Provide support for testing new and existing software applications under development Test fixes and perform post-resolution follow-ups to ensure problems have been adequately resolved Communicate application problems and issues to key stakeholders, including management, development teams, end users, and unit leaders Coordinate with end users or management to provide training to either individuals or teams where needed Provide weekly updates on issues, blockers, or solutions to team leaders or management Knowledge, Skills and Competencies: College diploma or University Degree in Computer Science, Information Systems or related field of study 1-2 years’ of experience as an Application Support Analyst or in a similar role Experience in supporting, debugging, & troubleshooting applications Knowledge and/or experience working with SQL preferred Previous experience working in an Agile environment Intermediate level proficiency with Microsoft Applications (Word, Excel, Visio, PowerPoint) Experience in developing technical documentation for training and end user procedures A capacity for interpreting and solving tough problems and being able to propose efficient solutions Work well under pressure and in an agile work environment Ability to effectively prioritize and execute tasks in a dynamic environment Strong customer service orientation Strong written, oral, interpersonal, and presentational skills, with an ability to present ideas in business-friendly and user-friendly language Ability to adapt, learn and show initiative We thank you for your interest.
