Learn more about Pathways to Independence and how you can help people to live their best lives by visiting our website: ( to Independence requires Casual Support Workers, Acquired Brain Injury who will work as a member of the residential support team to enhance the social, leisure and daily living activities of clients with an Acquired Brain Injury..The Support Worker, ABI, supports adults living with a brain injury with activities of daily living such as, homemaking, personal care, community and personal development skills in accordance with the person’s individual service plan. The Support Worker, ABI will implement established strategies and behavior management plans under the general direction of the manager and Counsellor, ABI. The Support Worker, ABI ensures that the person’s services and supports promote their rights, choices, self-determination, independence and builds personal and community living skills. The successful candidate must have the following skills/qualifications:* Secondary school graduation and a minimum one year post-secondary certificate in Human or Health Services (Personal Support Worker or equivalent).* Current First Aid and CPR;* Valid G class driver’s license; (The successful candidate must have access to their own vehicle, but is not required to use it for work purposes)* Proof of full COVID vaccination.Ideal candidates will also have experience and abilities aligned with the key responsibilities for these positions, which includes:* Provide effective services and supports to supported persons* Manage and maintain accurate client information and documentation* Participate and ensure a positive team environment* Demonstrate a person centered philosophy and commitment to agency vision, mission and guiding principles,* Ability to resolve conflicts and solve problems in a professional manner* Ability to work independently and within a team environment* Must be computer literate with proficiency in electronic mail and other computer based tools* Excellent written and oral communication skills* Ability to advocate on behalf of the client* Experience working with adults with a brain injury in a community based, group living or independent living environmentThe successful candidate must be able to perform the job duties as outlined in the job description.  All employees at Pathways will be responsible for a commitment to safety. Successful candidates must be available to work a minimum of four (4) shifts in every two-week pay period.
