General Description We are currently looking for an individual to join our team in the capacity of a Field Application Engineer.

The role involves a breadth of technical challenges ranging from commercial lighting control standards, wireless mesh networking, machine learning and cyber security.

Our ideal candidate is a tech-savvy professional, who is results driven and demonstrates a passion for working on and solving challenging technical problems through researching appropriate solutions.

As a Field Application Engineer, you will apply your specialized engineering knowledge to develop technical solutions for clients.

Initially, your position will consist of supporting software quality assurance, which will provide an excellent, hands-on learning foundation for product design, software testing and system applications.

Once proficient, you will transition into the Field Application Engineer role.

In this capacity, you will provide technical & application support for the sales process and maintain relationships with clients from early pre-sales promotion of new products, through bring-up, qualification, production, to end of life ensuring all issues are fully resolved in a timely manner.

You will also have the opportunity to be part of a close knit and innovative team, and explore new technology aimed at energy conservation using machine learning, edge computing and data fusion, with focus on making this world a better place for future generations.

Key Responsibilities Provide technical, product and business knowledge to support sales process and strengthen customer relationships.

Advise and recommend technical solutions to the customer through the product selection process and design-in phase to support closing the sale.

Support post sales application activities to provide the customer with the confidence in our solution.

Troubleshooting client issues at the system level to resolution.

Conduct training sessions for clients on products, technologies and tools JDRF provides, when required.

Collaborate with sales team, engineers, and product managers on ways to win new business and find opportunities for expanding client base.

Review requirements, specifications and technical design documents to provide timely and meaningful feedback.

Liaise with internal teams (e.g.

developers and product managers) to identify system requirements, future products and new features.

Based on your client interactions and feedback, provide system requirements to improve the overall quality assurance of our products through improved testing methodologies and increased parametric coverage.

Position Requirements An undergraduate degree in Electrical/Computer Engineering, Networking and Telecommunications or Information and Communication Technology.

Certifications such as Certified Information Systems Security Professional (CISSP), Cisco Certification (Entry Level or Higher), Microsoft Azure Database Administrator or Security Engineer.

Over 5 years’ experience in a product design or application engineer (field or internal) with both H/W and S/W knowledge.

Experience with Software Development.

Ability to explain technical details and requirements to highly technical and non
– technical audiences.

Ability to work under pressure where client issues arise, and deadlines need to be met.

Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.

Lighting industry experience is beneficial.

Experience with performance and security testing is a plus.

Understanding mesh network topology is beneficial.

Willingness to travel as required.
