This is accomplished across four geographic management zones which are responsible for the operation of acute care health centres and the provision of a variety of inpatient, outpatient services including academic, tertiary, quaternary care and community based programs and services including continuing care, primary health care, public health, and mental health and addictions.

Responsibilities Reporting to the Lab Manager, the Medical Laboratory Technologist (MLT) is responsible for performing Laboratory procedures following established methodology.

In addition, the MLT may be required to work at associated phlebotomy clinics and/or other sites in South Western Nova Scotia, and be readily available for on call duty.

The duties of the MLT will be carried out in accordance with the principles and practices that guide Nova Scotia Health Authority.

Qualifications L icensed with NSCMLT and currently registered with CSMLS Excellent communication and interpersonal skills as well as the ability to work as a member of the Laboratory team Ability to use initiative and work with minimal supervision Demonstrate a commitment to personal development Must possess coping skills conducive to a busy Laboratory Competencies in other languages an asset, French preferred Successful Applicants are required to provide a criminal record check (including Vulnerable Sector Search) to People Services before starting employment and assume any associated costs as a condition of employment Hours of Work Long Assignment Full Time Position; 75 hours bi-weekly With an approximate start date of May 24, 2021 and an expected end date of May 24, 2023 (approx.
