Here’s our story: Department Overview The Enterprise Strategy and Decision Support (ESDS) team is responsible for leading the strategic and financial planning process for TDBG, providing enterprise-level management reporting of results, and facilitating the enterprise financial performance management framework.

The team is also responsible for enterprise-level analytics and insights, including strategic and competitive analytics, in support of the CFO and other senior executives.

Job Description The primary accountabilities of this role are to prepare the Bank’s various enterprise strategy deliverables on behalf of the Senior Executive Team (SET), monitor and review business line strategy materials, manage the strategic risk framework for the Bank, and develop the Bank’s competitive strategic analytics.

Accountabilities include: Proactively seek out and summarize for senior management consumption, insightful industry and competitive trends that could impact TD.

Build a good understanding of internal and external business drivers impacting business lines and the competitive environment.

Identify issues requiring research or analysis, compile and analyze data and financial information, draw inferences and conclusions and, working in conjunction with other Finance executives, determine recommendations as necessary.

Provide meaningful information and analysis in response to issues / questions raised.

Facilitate enterprise strategic planning, including: plan and coordinate SET and Board strategy offsites; prepare the Board-approved enterprise strategic plan, with inputs from across the enterprise; draw out and disseminate key messages from business line strategies with a focus on enterprise implications; and identify any drift from enterprise and business line strategies and risk appetite.

Facilitate enterprise requirements for business lines’ strategic planning, in conjunction with the business teams.

Collaborate closely with internal partners including but not limited to the businesses, Segment Finance, and Investor Relations.

Address ad hoc requests and special assignments from senior executives related to the Bank’s financial or management results, earnings release and competitor analysis.

Draft presentations in a timely manner that clearly communicate insights derived.

Promote a positive work environment that encourages productivity, innovation, creativity, and teamwork.

Assist with mentoring junior staff and the development of team members.

Requirements Must have a high degree of numeracy and be comfortable with financial analysis and financial institutions.

Strong communicator with excellent written and oral communication skills, capable of managing multiple stakeholders.

Demonstrated ability to consolidate a large amount of information into clear and concise messages.

Demonstrated ability to manage complexity, including multiple projects, and meet challenging timelines.

Demonstrated business acumen, including ability to extract key messages from financial analysis, in developing and presenting solutions/alternatives.

Demonstrated ability to build positive relationships with individuals at all levels across the Bank.

Formal strategy experience (e.g., management consulting, corporate strategy) a plus.

Specific Educational Requirements Must have an undergraduate degree in business, accounting, mathematics, economics or a related field with high numeracy content, or an MBA.

CA and/ or CFA designations preferred.
