Job Description: Sun Life Global Investments is one of Canada’s fastest growing institutional asset managers in the Defined Contribution industry, primarily marketing its funds to the plan sponsor Clients of two areas within Sun Life; Group Retirement Services defined contribution and Client Solutions (rollover).

The Senior Manager, Institutional Sales and Client Support is the main, inside point of contact between the Institutional Business Development and Client Relationship Team and Product and Marketing.

The candidate’s key accountability will be to provide guidance to the Sales & Client Support Team in their support of the Institutional Business Development and Client Relationship Team.

The key mandates are to deliver an exceptional Client experience to our largest defined contribution Clients, our external partners (consultants & group advisors) and our internal partners; Group Retirement Services and Client Solutions, as well as helping them to build a robust sales pipeline.

The incumbent will coordinate activities related to Client and Business Development presentations, quarterly material updates, Client communications and some marketing events.

The incumbent will also manage, lead and develop the Sales & Client Support Team to their full potential and continuously review processes and practices to ensure efficiency.

The candidate will report directly to the Director, Institutional Business.

Main Accountabilities: Working in close collaboration with the Institutional Business Development and Client Relationship Team, the candidate will have the possess the following accountabilities: People management Manage, lead and develop the Institutional Sales & Client Support Team Business development & Client support and communications Help the Sales support team maintain an accurate request log to ensure excellent Client service Coordinate with the Marketing & Product Teams on quarterly updates of pitchbooks, marketing materials and sales support collateral, as well as ensure quality control Draft content and oversee the distribution of quarterly and adhoc mass e-communications to internal & external business partners Develop strong partnerships with internal partners, Group Retirement Services and Client Solutions, as well as Sun Life Global Investments supporting functions Help maintain and enhance the CRM database, and generate quarterly reports Help maintain Sun Life Global Investments SharePoint (intranet), Institutional Wiki and our documentation on the Sun Life Global Investments public and secured websites, as well as ensure that all information is current Requests for proposal/information (RFP/RFI) and adhoc requests Help the Sales support team maintain an accurate request log to ensure excellence in Client service Participate to the RFP/RFI process by drafting responses in collaboration with cross-function teams such as Product, Portfolio Management, Legal and Compliance, and ensure consistency, accuracy and on time delivery Ensure that the RFP/RFI database up to date Help the Institutional Business Development and Client Relationship Team with adhoc data & information requests Event support Act as primary contact for the Event Marketing Team by helping coordinate Institutional events and speaking opportunities at industry conferences Support the Institutional Business Development and Client Relationship Team in hosting regional events Competencies: Knowledge of the pension/institutional investment management business & investment products Experience in managing a Sales & Client Support team Understanding of Sun Life’s Group Retirement Services and Client Solutions (rollover) businesses and their purposes Excellent communication, influencing and interpersonal skills (questioning, listening, writing, observing) Strong interpersonal skills and the ability to influence peers to achieve a desired result Proven ability to collaborate across all levels, including listening and facilitation skills Demonstrated strong problem-solving skills with the ability to quickly and effectively resolve Client concerns A team player with solid project management skills and the ability to manage and prioritize a portfolio of initiatives Ability to work with a sense of urgency in a fast paced environment and balance competing priorities Ability to be flexible and to adapt to a frequently changing environment Possess a continuous improvement and problem solving mindset Requirements: Undergraduate Business Knowledge of the pension and institutional investment management business and investment products 10 years of work experience 5 years in Institutional Sales and Client Support Proficient with computer applications (Outlook, Windows, Excel, Word and PowerPoint) Experience with CRM systems software and industry databases (Mercer Insight, eVestment, Morningstar Direct etc.) an asset English spoken and written (French spoken and written if based in Montreal) Some travel may be required The Base Pay range is for the primary location for which the job is posted.

It may vary depending on the work location of the successful candidate or other factors.

In addition to Base Pay, eligible Sun Life employees participate in various incentive plans, payment under which is discretionary and subject to individual and company performance.
