Sr. Application Support Analyst to provide analysis and second level support on client and technical issues for all Internal and External applications for

S.i. Systems

This is a Contract position in Sault Ste Marie, ON posted April 30, 2021.

Overtime might be required for this role Project the contractor will be working on: The contractor will be joining the Remote Banking and Shared Services group.

He/She will be responsible for providing analysis and second level support on client issues, technical issues, system/web site outages and questions from all Internal and External application by maintaining, prioritization and addressing to respective Technology groups and Vendors.

He/She will also be responsible for maintaining the production applications and day-to-day operational activities, manage escalations and modify established procedures / approaches to suit specific situations including 24 x 7 support and coordination of recovery efforts The team requires a resource to help deploy and support the new IBM Safer Payments application.

Group information: The team consists of 5 full time resources and 1 contractor; they support all the project that team has and any new application that comes in This is a unique application that the team is installing, it is not just any JAVA application.

The contractor will get IBM vendor software exposure.

The project doesn’t use any database or middleware layers.

It will be a challenging software to support with a lot of work to assist in enterprise environment.

The contractor will get deeply involved on how this is integrating with enterprises pool/applications.

This will force contractor to learn and support this unique application to properly integrate and work well The Candidate will Be Working with: This is not so much hands on but expertise role, will need to learn the tool and support.

The operations team is hands on.

When they have trouble, this resource will assist and consult.

And will work with infrastructure team when load balancer and front end is not working.

Daily Job Duties/Activities:
• Production Support
– Investigate and define operational issues and prioritize based on severity, risk and/or strategic business needs.

Manage issue logs and Contact Centre requests.

Design and implement solutions to prevent recurrence with the end goal of ensuring clients satisfaction.

• Projects Support
– Act as subject matter expert in the assessment of impacts for planned system changes and projects, ensuring compliance with relevant organization standards (Business, Continuity, Security, Compliance, and Privacy); develop and maintain productive relationships with Technology, QA, Project team and others.

Research, analyze and support the development and implementation of new and/or revised policies, procedures and standards.

Investigate, analyze and provide recommendations on issues and system outages.

• Analysis & Support: Evaluate ongoing activities and requests to ensure adherence to standards and processes.

Coordinate and/or execute implementation plans.

• Troubleshooting Skills: Identify and resolve medium to large complex production problems.

Monitor and analyze supported services to identify opportunities for improvement and recommend solutions.

• Detail Oriented: You understand that success is in the details.

You notice things that others don’t.

Your critical thinking skills help to inform your decision making.

• The successful candidate for this role may be on call at times, and required to be accessible 24/7 Must Haves:
• 10 years of experience in similar role.

• Experience in supporting Java applications , off-the-shelf vendor applications (transactional), Secure File transfer, and Batch scheduling
• Familiarity with SQL and Oracle Databases , Autosys and Feedhub, and basic network troubleshooting.

Nice to have:
• Familiarity or have experience working with IBM Safer Payments software (highly valuable for the role)
• Strong knowledge of: Agile and DevOps concepts, Middleware (JBoss & Weblogic), Linux, and Microsoft Windows
• Previous FI experience
