This client-facing role and system support are located in the Ottawa, Canada area.

Job DescriptionSupports and performs business analysis functions, documenting requirements, researching application issues, and providing process and/or code/development fixes or solutions.

Makes recommendations to address specific business needs for information technology-based solutions.

Collaborates with multiple cross-functional government areas of systems technology in mainframes.

Evaluates new tools and Operating Systems releases and recommend appropriate change releases and processes applicability to the Unisys environment within the Federal Government.

Manages client relationships issues, notifications, and follow-up until resolution.

Evaluates code changes and enhancements to Unisys supported applications including tools and programs.

Works on problems of moderate scope where analysis of situations or data requires a review of a variety of factors.

Prepares communications and makes presentations on enhancements and/or alternatives.

Works independently within an established Unisys and government of Canada team.

Exercises judgment within defined procedures and practices to determine appropriate action.

Builds productive internal/external working relationships.

Has working knowledge and experience in own discipline area and receives moderate levels of guidance and direction.

QualificationsA valid SECRET security clearance; Canadian Citizen or Canadian Permanent Resident and ability to pass security and background checks to get Secret security level clearance is a requirementPost-secondary education in Computer Science, Engineering, or Business Administration; 7+ years’ technical experience supporting Enterprise-class environments, including tools and applications.Work experience with Public Sector CustomersSkills and Experience Strong analytical and troubleshooting backgroundSuperior written and verbal communicationFamiliar with Mainframe tools in the industry Knowledge of programming languages such as COBOL, PL/I, and Assembler.Be able to write software code and transfer existing skills to other programming languages as neededAnalytical skills to diagnose debug and repair programming issues.DB2 or other enterprise-class database experience a plusExperience with; Windows Server, Enterprise-class OS system utilities; Data communications; Networking Knowledge of middlewareAble to organize and work independentlyCommunicates and work within a team to accomplish common goalsUnisys is an Equal Opportunity Employer – Minorities/Females/Veterans/Individuals with Disabilities/Sexual Orientation/Gender Identity.
